Beauty of Czech Glass

Art Glass Vessel – A veritable rainbow weaves across this exquisite blown glass vessel, creating a stunning interplay of light and color. Using the canework technique, Patchen meticulously arranges and fuses colored glass rods, shapes them into a final form, then encases them in thick, clear glass to add depth, weight, and stability. Each is unique; size and pattern will vary slightly.

All of Patchens pieces have flat satin-finished bases. While Museum Wax is recommended for added security, for ultimate stability, this piece may be purchased with a permanently bonded clear glass base. Optional base is 5 x 5.

Overview -Superb twisted vase produced by Chribska -Ice blue glass, encased in clear glass -Designed by Josef Hospodka, early 1950’s -A perfect, unique present for a wedding gift -Glass art, glass sculpture and a little bit of history! -Ship worldwide from the Czech Republic. This heavy vase has an organic twisted form which mixes the colour of the glass .The combination of the encased coloured glass is truly fantastic. The item is approximately 7 cm (2.75 inches) top, 5 cm (1.97 inches) bottom, 9 cm (3.54 inches) ‘waist’and 16 cm (6.3 inches) high. Weight approximately 0.915 kg (2 lbs). The vase is in excellent condition with no cracks or bruises. There are a few light surface scratches on the base and one small chip commensurate with its age. All items are carefully packed so that they arrive in perfect condition. Please be aware… when you are buying vintage glassware, you should expect some age related signs of wear such as very small fine surface scratches/marks. Also many of the items are hand made, they may have small imperfections such as bubbles, inclusions & lumps within the glass and often tool marks from where they have been shaped and worked in the manufacturing process. These are not usually seen by collectors as faults or damage, but as part of the character of hand made glass and are not usually mentioned in the description.
