This majestic vase is a wonderful example of the design talent of the young Josef Hospodka. Square top which transforms through the prunts into a four pointed base. Formed entirely at the furnace this vase was produced by Chribska. The combination of the organic form and the encased coloured glass is truly fantastic. A ‘must have’ vase for any collector/fan of the work of Josef Hospodka. The item is approximately 11 x 11 cm (4.3 x 4.3 inches) across the top, 8 x 8 cm (3.15 x 3.15 inches) at base and 22.5 cm (8.86 inches) high. Weight approximately 3.1 kg (6.8 lbs). The vase is in good condition with no cracks or bruises but there is one small chip and flea bites to the base. There are surface scratches on the base and some marking on one of the prunts. All commensurate with its age. Nothing detracts from the quality of this vase. All items are carefully packed so that they arrive in perfect condition. Please be aware… when you are buying vintage glassware, you should expect some age related signs of wear such as very small fine surface scratches/marks. Also many of the items are hand made, they may have small imperfections such as bubbles, inclusions & lumps within the glass and often tool marks from where they have been shaped and worked in the manufacturing process. These are not usually seen by collectors as faults or damage, but as part of the character of hand made glass and are not usually mentioned in the description.
