Gorgeous vintage porcelain USA pottery planter with rosy pink dogwood blossoms in high relief. This vintage floral centerpiece, it is a unique form with a wonderful, sculptural, high relief embossed design with an Art Nouveau feel. The detail of the five overlapping dogwood flowers is fabulous! It is molded porcelain ceramic with a high gloss glaze. 2 Royal Copley Vintage Vases In Exceptional ConditionVase measures 7.5” tall 4” long 3” wide Shorter vase 4.5” tall 7” long 2.5” wideRoyal Copley was the most popular line of ceramic pieces made by Spaulding China Company. So popular in fact that the company itself is commonly referred to as Royal Copley. They produced mid century Figural planters, Figurines and other ceramic pieces until the late 1950’s. Spaulding didn’t begin production until 1942 in Sebring, Ohio. They began in a garage off of Ohio St. and with demand continually increasing they had to move to into a plant within the first year. By 1947, production was continuous, operating 24 hours a day in 10 hour cycles. They were eventually producing 18,000 items a day. Eventually the company moved their main office over to New York, setting up shop close to the Empire State Building with Morris Feinberg as President. Spaulding put their emphasis on the importance of design and creating a quality product, using the motto “Gift Shop Merchandise at Chain Store Prices”.
